Reef Tank

 

The system has been running since December of 2004 (although much of the equipment and live rock came from a tank that has been running since 1999 or 2000. 
  • Tank: 150 Gallon Glass from GlassCages.Com
  • Sump:
    • 150 Gallon Plastic Tub (in basement)
    • 2 inch pvc feed to viewing tank (through Oceans Motions 4 way)
    • 2×1.5 inch pvc returns from viewing tank
    • Dolphin Super Amp 5600 Pump feeding viewing tank, refugium and growout tank
    • 60 Gallon Trash Can which some water passes through on the way to the sump (I turn off the flow through it, empty it and mix fresh saltwater in it for water changes)
  • Refugium: 75 Gallon Glass tank.
  • Growout Tank: 40 Gallon Glass Tank from GlassCages.Com
  • Filtration: Pacific Coast Imports RPS-3000 Recirculating Needle Wheel Protein Skimmer
  • Calcium Supplements:
  • Lighting:
    • 2 250 watt metal halide + 1 400 Watt MH (over viewing tank)
    • 4×4 foot Fluorescents (over sump)
    • 4 96 Watt Power Compact Flourescents (over refugium)
